Purpose and Summary of position:
Under direction of the Maintenance Team Leader:
Safely and efficiently disassemble for inspection and repair pumps, motors, gearboxes, turbines and other rotating equipment.
Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions of plant rotating equipment.
Understand permitting systems; be able to accurately secure work permits; including HOT WORK and CONFINED SPACE ENTRY permits.
Effectively manage work load to complete assigned task in a SAFE and reliable manner.
Maintain plant equipment by understanding and performing Preventative Maintenance on plant rotating equipment.
Required
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
3
years experience
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Ability to participate in Cross Craft training as outlined by Team Leader and Training coordinator
Ability to provide plant-wide maintenance coverage on a 24-hour basis using pagers and rotating weekend duty
Proven mechanical and trouble shooting skills.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Excellent working knowledge of lifting, rigging tools and equipment
Excellent working knowledge of lifting and rigging tools and equipment
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Must be willing to work overtime when required
Must possess the ability to work in a safe manner
Must be able to read specifications such as blueprint, sketch or description of part to be replaced, and plan sequence of operations.
Must be able to verify dimensions and alignment with measuring instruments
Proficient in the use of laser Alignment Tools
Desirable
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Experience working with inside machining tools, lathes, drill presses, and mills
Knowledge and Experience in the use of a PMI gun to identify materials
Knowledge of proper handling and disposal of environmentally hazardous substances
Experience with root cause analysis
Experience with SAP business systems
