Responsibilities
Purpose and Summary of position:
Perform electrical maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical components, emergency shutdown systems, lighting, and plant electric distribution systems at the high, medium, and low voltage levels.
Locate and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems for repair while using schematics and test equipment.
Determine/develop a properly sequenced equipment repair plan.
Read and understand ladder/relay logic and Single Line Diagrams.
Troubleshoot electrical protective relays, breakers, and associated equipment.
Lead switching activities for High, medium and low voltage breakers, fused devices, and switches.
Assist Engineering in installing, testing, and commission new electrical equipment.
Assist operations with verification of Energy Isolation Plans.
Qualifications
Required
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
5
Years of electrical maintenance experience
HS diploma or equivalent
Proven electrical trouble shooting skills.
Working knowledge of the proper use of electrical test equipment, hand tools and power tools.
Working knowledge of transformer connection and phasing.
Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and schematics.
Ability to provide plant-wide maintenance coverage on a 24-hour basis and rotating weekend duty.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Must be willing to work overtime when required.
Desirable
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of process instrumentation.
Ability to operate JLG, forklift and scissor lift.
Working knowledge of uninterruptible power supplies.
Experience with root cause failure analysis (RCA).
Experience with SAP business systems.
